GM Bast was kind of forced into giving his "go to" guy J. Quick the night off in this one and he has to be very happy that he did as L. Ullmark served notice that he wants to play too! Colorado had 2 solid periods of hockey to start the game but despite being the better team thru 40 went into the third tied at 1. The old saying of "win a period, win the game" came into play for Vegas as they saved their best period of the night for the third outshooting a frustrated Avalanche squad 15-7 and out scoring them 1-0. Ullmark made 32 saves for the win and was clearly the reason Vegas was able to steal this one away. With the win Colorado has their backs against the wall while Vegas has an interesting decision to make in goal as giving Quick another night off will have him back to 100% for a Game 7 if it goes that far whereas using him in Game 6 may mean he will be unavailable for Game 7! Vegas with the edge up 3-2
