Eastern Finals
Habs 2
Isles 4
The beast from the East A. Vasilevskiy is basically taking away series after series and is 1 win away from an appearance in the finals following another great performance. All Vasilevskiy has done is lead the league in starts, wins, minutes played, and shots faced while coming second in Save% and GAA to this point. Now the talented Habs are having their turn dealing with him and like the 2 previous Isles victims are not having a good time of it. Tonights game was just another example of 2 evenly matched teams battling one another with no clear victor to the eye test but only 1 team had Vasilevskiy and somehow a close game became a 4-1 lead and pretty much over. It will be interesting to see if the Isles give Vasilevskiy a game off now having a commanding lead in the series and doubling-down on him if need be later on or if they will try and take them out with him at slightly less then 100%. The Habs, while not having Vasilevskiy, have 2 very good goalies of their own and can ride one at 100% the rest of the way so they are at least confident in that regard the rest of the way. The fat lady is warming up but GM Steve and the Habs aren't ready to hear her just yet. Back to Montreal with Isles up 3-1
